Day by day itinerary:

Day 1, Wednesday, July 18 – 2012, Odessa (Ukraine)
Welcome to Ukraine! Our English speaking guide, a motorcycle enthusiast, collects you from Odessa Airport. Founded by a decree of the Empress Catherine the Great in 1794, the city is a major seaport located on the northwest shore of the Black Sea. Briefing and accommodation in a 4* Hotel.

Day 2, Thursday, July 19 – 2012, Odessa – Kobelov – Nikolaev – Cherson
About 225km – 3h40min
Morning ride to Odessa Port. Visit Potemkin Steps, one of the most beautiful staircases of Europe, made famous all over the world by director Eisenstein in the movie Battleship Potemkin. Enjoy a visit to the Vorontov Palace, a supreme work-of-art, the 19th Century palace and colonnade was built for Odessa governor Prince Mikhail Semyonovich Vorontsov. Ride to Nikolajev, an important cultural centre of Ukraine, laid out on a gridiron pattern of broad streets. Accommodation in Cherson in a 3* Hotel.

Day 3, Friday, July 20 – 2012, Cherson – Novaja Kackovka – Jevpatoria
About 300km – 5h15min. riding
Morning ride to Novaja Kackovka. Recognized as the Monument of Architecture, the city is also known as the Pearl of low Dnieper. After a short tour of the city continue riding to Jevpatoria, a major Ukrainian Black Sea Port, home of several spas of mineral water, salt and mud lakes used for curative purposes. Accommodation in a 3* Hotel.

Day 4, Saturday, July 21– 2012, Jevpatoria – Saki – Balaclava – Sevastopol – Bakhchisaraj – Sevastopol
about 225km – 3h35min riding
Continue your journey to Balaclava, home of the Nuclear Submarine Top Secret Base turned nowadays into a naval Museum. Hollowed out in a rock and covered by 56m of reinforced concrete, the submarine base is formed by combined underground water channel with a dry dock, repairing workshops, torpedoes and other weapon stores. In case of direct nuclear attack, the objective could resist a direct hit up to 100 kilotons power.
Enjoy the Military Port in Sevastopol and visit the Panorama (Heroic Sevastopol Defence) Museum, a monument to the heroic defenders of Sevastopol in Crimea War, unleashed in the fight for the influence on the Middle East by Great Britain, France, Turkey and Sardinia against Russia. Ride to Bakhchisaraj and visit The Khan's Palace. Built in the 16th century, the palace became home to a succession of Crimean Khans. Head back to Sevastopol and accommodate in a 3* Hotel.

Day 5, Sunday, July 22 – 2012, Sevastopol – Alupka – Yalta
About 140 km – 3h riding
Ride to Alupka, home of Vorontsov Palace. Constructed by serf-masters, in pseudo-gothic style with eastern style elements, the Palace-museum has original interiors, collections of painting, china, furniture, bronzes and cut-glass ware. Continue your journey to Yalta, a memorable place in Worlds History. Visit Livadia Palace – the summer residence of the last Russian Tsar, Nicholas II and his family. In February 1945 the palace became the place where the Crimean Conference of the Government executives of the anti-Hitler coalition countries took place (Stalin from USSR, Roosevelt from USA and Churchill from Great Britain). Chekhov's House (White Dacha), the place where famous Russian writer, Anton Chekhov, wrote many of his plays, and Swallow's Nest Castle are next on our agenda. Accommodation in Yalta in a 3* Hotel.

Day 6, Monday, July 23 – 2012, Yalta – Alushta –  Sudak – Feodosija 
About 175 km – 3h riding
Visit today the largest waterfall in the Crimea – the Wuchang-su Water Fall, 98 meters height. The waterfall is particularly beautiful after a heavy rain, during spring time and when the snow melts in the mountains. Admire the waterfall and ride to Alushta to visit the Red Cave. The halls of the cave are 80 meters long and up to 30 meters high. It covers for 19% of the total length, 30% of the area and 13% of all cavities in Crimea. Sudak is your next destination with the ruins of The Genovese Fortress, dating back to 14th-15th centuries. Accommodate in the Old City of Feodosija in a 3* Hotel.

 

Day 7, Tuesday, July 24 – 2012, Feodosija – Dzankoj – Cherson
About 310 km – 5h25min
Leave Feodosija behind and ride to Cherson, an important port on the Black Sea and home of a major ship-building industry. Accommodation in a 3* Hotel.

Day 8, Wednesday, July 25 – 2012, Cherson – Odessa (Ukraine) –Tiraspol (Transnistria) – Chisinau (Republic of Moldavia)
About 355km – 5h50min
Leave Ukraine behind and step into a country that does not exist on the map – Transnistria. Governed as the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, Transnistria is a ghost country, an unrecognized state claiming the territory to the east of the river Dniester, the city of Bender and the localities situated on the west bank of the river. Visit the city of Tiraspol, the capital and largest city of Transnistria.
Continue your journey to Chisinau, the capital city of the Republic of Moldavia. Located on the river Bic, the city is a mixture of old and modern architectural styles.
Accommodation in Chisinau in a 3* Hotel.

 

Day 9, Thursday, July 26 – 2012, Chisinau (Republic of Moldavia) – Iasi – Suceava (Romania)
About 284 km – 5h riding 
Morning visit to one of the most famous winery in Moldavia – Cricova Cellars. Located in Cricova, the winery boasts 120 kilometres of labyrinth roadways, some of them used for wine storage. Legend has it that in 1966 the astronaut Yuri Gagarin entered the wine cellars, re-emerging two days later (with assistance). Visit the cellars and continue your journey to Romania. Ride to Iasi, one of the most beautiful cities in the country, home of the Palace of Culture. A landmark of the city, the Palace, built in neo-gothic style, hosts the Moldavia National Museum. Visit Iasi and head to Suceava, the former capital of the Moldavian State and main residence of the Moldavian princes. Accommodation in Suceava in a 3* Hotel.

Day 10, Friday, July 27 – 2012, Suceava – Voronet – Borgo Pass – Turda 
About 322km – 5h25min
Start your day with the most beautiful monastery of Bucovina, Voronet, probably the most accomplished example of Moldavian architecture and painting, known as the Sistine Chapel of the East, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fame of Voroneţ is due especially to its exterior painting realized on an inimitable blue background, and known throughout the world as the ‘blue of Voroneţ’. Head next for Dracula’s Castle on Borgo Pass, built in accordance to Bram Stoker’s imagination on the border between Transylvania and Moldavia. To test your courage, visit Dracula’s Coffin in the dungeon of the castle. Spend the evening in Turda, accommodation in a 4* Hotel.

Day 11, Saturday, July 28 – 2012, Turda – Cluj Napoca
About 40 km – 40 min transferWith a lot of memories and surely some regret say good bye to Romania. Transfer to Cluj Napoca Airport to catch your flight home.
